Check a configuration before launch
Verify permissions, layout, data, and recovery before customers use a new configuration.
Operating risks reduced by this check
A pre-launch check finds customer-facing errors, incorrect organization scope, excessive access, and settings that are hard to recover. A new reservation form can pass a normal submission but fail on an expired link, mobile input, saved result, or agent permission.
For each launch, record problems found, retest results, configuration errors after publication, and recovery time. Reusing the same checklist makes quality comparable across different features.
Before you begin
Select the test organization or branch. Prepare synthetic test data. Complete this check before you send a link to a customer.
Check the configuration
- Open the setting with an administrator account. Confirm the current organization and branch.
- Complete the main task at mobile and desktop widths.
- Test a failure path, such as a missing required value or an expired link.
- Save the change. Confirm the expected values in the list and detail views.
- Use a member without administrator access. Confirm that management controls are not visible.
- Confirm how to disable the setting or restore the previous value.
- Record the launch time and the operator who will check the result.
Check the result
All items must be true before launch.
- The task works at mobile and desktop widths.
- Each error explains the problem and the next action.
- Data from another organization or branch is not visible.
- New data belongs to the correct customer or reservation.
- You know how to disable or restore the setting.
- One operator owns the post-launch check.
Do not publish the setting when a check fails. Use Troubleshooting to record the symptom and evidence.
